and more scrapbooking pages..........

Here are the other two pages we did for my monthly scrapbooking pages (March). I used all Stampin Up products on these two pages. Loved how they turned out. I am still getting page ideas from other stampers but I always change it up before it is all over with. Can't help it - there are so many cool things you can add to a page. Like I have said before, I absolutely adore the Circle Circus stamp set that I used on the background of the Splish Splash page. This page can used for bath tub time or for swimming photos. And if you move around like I used to, the HOME page is a neat way to document what you now call home. I love my home.

Just a reminder that April is the last month to purchase items from the Occasions Mini Catalog!

Dear Spring........

Dear Spring: Please hurry the hell up - I miss you.

I just absolutley LOVE this scrapbook page. I got the idea from another crafter and for the life of me, can't remember who. I look at so many a day. I live in Winter Park, Colorado - about 9200 feet above see level, in the Rocky Mountains. Spring here is defined as some snow, no buds and lots of snowmelt which leads to lot of mud. Thus why we call it Mudseason. We can't plant our flowers until after Father's Day (June) or they will die. Believe me, I have tried. So, in honor of Spring, I created this fun page - Dear Spring. My monthly scrapbook girls loved it. It was not an easy page to do but it allowed for a lot of individual creativity. Now I just need to go out and take some photos of trees with no buds, snow melting, and maybe a few deer in my yard (can you believe about 100!).

Thanks for looking!

Here Comes the Easter Bunny!

It is a very special time of year when that cute, fuzzy, adorable little white bunny come hopping around hiding Easter eggs and filling up baskets. This month I held my first young girl (9-11 year olds) stamp club. It was tons of fun. I originally scheduled the club for two hours and realized quickly that it was going to be well over 3 before we completed all three projects! I have a little 4 year old boy so I am not used to 3 hours filled with nonstop giggling. It was truly an experience - one that I enjoyed! Next time, we will replace the cupcakes with tons of turkey. Hee hee. Anyhoo, we did 3 really cute projects all Easter related. I am posting only two as the third project we decorated Easter eggs with the Stampin Up Eggcellent Eggs Kit (SOLD OUT).

The two cards were fun to make. The flower card was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers, Dawn McVey of My Favorite Things. She uses the most unsual color combos on her projects - thus encouraging me to try something out of my comfort zone. I love the way this card turned.
Supplies for the flower card are:
Whisper White CS 100730
Bernuda Bay CS 115317
Certainley Celery CS 105125
DSP - Shades of Springs (Occasions Mini) 117160
Pretty in Pink satin ribbon (Occasions Mini) 117289
Green Galore ink pad 102122
Petal Pizzazz Stamp Set 113417
1" Circle Punch 109046
Bold Brights Brads 106957

The second card was challenging for the girls. They could not stop eating the candy! This is my first attempt at a punch project. The poor little Easter bunny is missing 2 of his foot pads, but I did not realize it until after I took the photo and I am not at home to replace them. But you get the jest of it. He's cute.
Supplies for the Bunny card are:
Punches
Large Oval 107305
Ornament (Holiday Mini)
3/4" Circle 107217
1/2" Circle 104390
1 3/4" Circle 112004
Scalloped Edge 112091
Word Window 105090
Certainley Celery CS 105125
Pink Passion CS 102762
Whisper White CS 100730
DSP - Shades of Spring (Occasions Mini) 117160
Sweet treat Cups (Occasions Mini) 116802
Eggcoutrment Stamp Set 115164

What is up with that?

Busy. Busy with life. Between work, school, husband and 4 year old, training for Avon walk, and moving family around I have not had much time for crafting. What is up with that? Well, my hubby and I have spent much needed alone time the past two days and guess where we are going tonight!!!????? Give you a hint:

Can you say "yum yum". My darling husband got me 17th row tickets. Should be loads of fun. So, I will not be crafting tonight either but will be soon as I have a stamp camp and Little Girl Stamp Club this weekend.............

Using Decor Stencils......

for scrapbooking pages! What a great idea! Normally, these stencils are used for wall or furniture decor but I thought it would be cool to use as a background for a scrapbooking page. So, for the second scrapbook page for my monthly scrapbooking class, I created this vintage looking page to honor my mother. I layed the stencil over the Kraft 12 x 12 cardstock and gently sponged the Pink Passion first. Then I moved the stencil slightly down, while still exposing some parts of the already sponged Pink Passion part and gently sponged over with the Old Olive. I did the same procedure for the opposite corner. For the other two corners I just doubled stamped the images with Pink Passion and Old Olive, stamped the flower on Very Vanilla and cut out. I intend to go back and journal something about my mom. So................what do you think?

Products used:
Kraft Cardstock 12 x 12 #107070
Very Vanilla Cardstock 8 1/2 x 11 #101650
Pink Passion Ink #101212
Old Olive Ink #102277
Chocolate Chip Ink #100908
Decor Stencils #118139 (Mini)
Well Scripted Stamp Set #117072 (Mini)
Vintage Vogue Stamp Set #117690 (Mini)
Wide Oval #112082

CPS 154 Part 2

I just love the Card Positioning Systems swketch challenge. This is my second time creating a card for the sketch and the challenge makes me use brain cells I have not used in awhile. Hooray for neurons! Can you tell I just completed my Anatomy/Physiology class?

So, this is my card for the challenge. Do you like it? I do. I used my favorite DSP called Sweet Pea from Stampin Up's Occasion Mini Catalog. I need to purchase another as the Mini is about to be history come April 30,. YIKES! Then what will I use? I am sure Stampin UP will have some adorable new DSP paper in its Summer Mini but I want to make sure I have plenty of Sweet Pea. Look at all the cute paper within Sweet Pea. Now you know how it got it's name.

To make this card, all you need is the following:

Cardstock:
Chocolate Chip
Pumpkin Pie
Whisper White

DSP:
Sweet Pea (Occasions Mini Catalog)

Stamp Set:
Three Little Words

Other:
Chocolate Chip Corduroy Buttons
Word Window Punch

Hello - The Happy Card

Wow - what a crazy weekend. I had my sister, her hubby, 13 year old daughter, and two little sons up for the weekend. Love having her come for a visit as she does not come that often. She is afraid of driving over the pass to get here. It can be a little scary but if your drive it all the time it is not so bad. Had a fun filled weekend just no time for stamping..........

Here is a very cute card I did for my stamp club this month. I have had this DSP paper forever and have not used it until now. It was a huge hit with the girls. I love it. These little flowers just make me happy. Having a bad day then I look at these little cuties and I am happy. Not that I have bad days all the time. I don't. This card is perfect for a workshop as some of your workshoppers may be new to stamping. I cut out the little butterfly and used a dimentional to pop it out.

Hope to do some challenges this week since I do not have a club to prepare for this week........

Anyhoo, here are the Stampin Up supplies for this adorable happy card:
Cardstock:
Chocolate Chip #102128
Whisper White #100730
Melon Mambo #115320
Ink:

The Man Card

I call this card The Man Card. I had a hard time making this card. For one, I need to build up my supplies....need more of everything! So, figuring out the color scheme was interesting. But the end product turned out great. Does it look like a card for a man? I think so.........I love the Circle Circus stamp set. So versatile. Love that word too......versatile. I tend to make numerous pretty, fluffy cards perfect for women and sometimes forget about our good men out there. Need to show them how much we love and appreciate them. I am married to a wonderful man. Not just saying that. He is an amazing dad. Sometimes I think he does more than me when it comes to our 4 year old. Anywhoo, this card is for the men out there. Decided not to go with ribbon as that is not very masculine. cased the idea of the crimped cardstock instead from someone......who was that........anyhoo, thank you for the idea. Looks good on the man card.

Supplies for The Man Card:

Cardstock:
Chocolate Chip #102128
Whisper White #100730
Old Olive #100702
Soft Suede #115318

Stamp Sets:
Circle Circus #115778
Well Scripted #117072 (Mini)

Ink:
Chocolate Chip #100908
Old Olive #102277

Other:
1/2" Circle Punch #104390
Crimper #101618
Scallop Punch #109043
1 3/8" Punch #104401
1" Circle Punch #109046
Earth Element Brads - Old Olive #106955

See..............I need to restock my supplies. I feel like I am using the same colors all the time.........am I?

Life Happens - Contest!

Life Happens. Yes, it does. Just wish it would slow down a bit. Know what I mean? Anyhoo. This card was totally inspired by not one, but two WOW projects we were shown at Regional. I changed it up a bit by using Kraft paper, different ink colors and adding the Medallion in the background. I really like this card. Not my usual style and that is why is appeals to me this week...............I need some simplicity right now. Beautiful, yet simple. I am aiming for the vintage look here. Thinking a scrapbook page would look good with this on it too. This card is one of the three projects for my monthly stamp club. Lucky girls.

Interested in earning the Vintage Vogue stamp set for FREE including step by step directions on how to make 5 projects???? Then book a workshop in the month of February and it is all yours! First to book a workshop with me, wins the stamp set.................. how cool is that?

Supplies for this card are:

Cardstock
* Very Vanilla 101650
* Kraft 102125 (my favorite!)
* Barely Banana 102701

Ink
* Crushed Curry 115659
* Dusty Durango 115654
* Always Artichoke 105219
* Soft Suede 115657

Stamp Set
* Vintage Vogue 117690 (Mini Catalog)
* Medallion 115223

Card*a*Licious Challenge #33

This one was so much fun to do..........got this little boy scrapbooking kit on sale at Target. Could not resist as I teach a scrapbooking class every month. Most of the girls in the class have little boys, so this was perfect! This card is my first attempt at one of my favorite new challenge blogs called Card*a*Licious. It is very different than most challenges and I like that. The designers are extremely talented and their cards are so cute! You can tell they are scrapbookers just by their designs. The website is http://www.cardalicious.blogspot.com/. So, this cute Birthday Boy card is my entry for the challenge which was make a card using 3 different kinds of designer paper and one tag on your project. And that is what is so cool too - it does not have to be a card.

Birthday Boy card was made with the following items:
Stampin Up Products:
- Kraft Card Stock 102125
- Old Olive Card Stock 100702
- Very Vanilla Card Stock 101650
- So Saffron Card Stock 105118
- Happy Moments Stamp Set (Sale-a-bration)

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

Donate now and receive a set of 5 cards w/ envelopes!

In honor of my wonderful and courageous mom, I am walking over 26 miles in two days in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in June. YIKES!!!! Honestly, it was my sister's idea that we should pay it forward as my mom was diagnosed in 1983 and is a true survivor (she was only given 3 months to live). Most everyone I know, knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer and this walk is in honor of not only my mom, but so many women (and men!) who have conquered or lost this battle.

I am accepting donations from anyone, for any amount. I need to raise at least $1800 to even qualify to walk. To show my appreciation and thanks to those that donate, I will send you a set of these adorable Birthday cards that I personally made. Everyone who donates will receive a set of 5 cards with envelopes. How is that for appreciation!? Please click on the link below to donate. Your support for this cause is gratefully appreciated! Thank you so much, Trace.

- DSP: Pawsitively Prints (Holiday Mini)
- Stamp: Fun and Fast Notes, Little Angel (Occasions Mini)

Simply Adorned Party!

Mark your calendars ladies! I am hosting a Simply Adorned party on February 21, from 2-4pm. We will be making (10) unique charm inserts for a 1"x1" Simply Adorned charm from Stampin Up. Charms will be preordered at time of RSVP. If interested in ordering a chain as well, please let me know.

Our Simply Adorned line beautifully combines the best of two worlds: stamping and jewelry! We designed our Simply Adorned charms to hold a creation you design yourself, making your jewelry truly unique.

Simply Adorned charms are lockets--they open up so you can insert your custom stamped image. The Charming stamp set, along with Rub-Ons, glitter, ribbons, and other embellishments, can help you create your unique charm insert. And don't forget that you can embellish the chains with ribbon, felt flowers . . . the possibilities are endless! The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back. Because there's glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both. You can create a custom heirloom piece that you'll never want to change, or you can swap artwork in and out, depending on your mood and your wardrobe.
And although we designed Simply Adorned charms to be jewelry, they also make delightful key chains or Christmas tree ornaments. Insert a stamped image or photo of your loved ones, tie a ribbon through the clasp, and you're done!

You will love the look of Simply Adorned and appreciate how easy it is to create custom jewelry. When you wear your own Simply Adorned necklace with artwork you created yourself, be prepared for questions about where you got it!

Our Simply Adorned class includes nickel-plated charms in one size and anodized stainless steel chains in two lengths:
Simply Adorned 1" x 1" charm
$17.95
Simply Adorned 24" chain
$10.95
Simply Adorned 34" chain
$12.95

Please RSVP by Feb. 12 if you wish to attend the party. If you are unable to attend or live in other parts of the country, you can order the charm and (10) inserts, which I will personally create for you and mail out to you. Cost would be the same but would include shipping.

Great gifts for moms, daughters, nieces, friends, and sisters!

Of note: Thanks to Kristin Moore for the project photos.

Trace

Friend to Friend - Colour Q Challenge #17

As you can see I am really trying to post something new every day. I really like sketch and color challenges. Therefore, I am creating as fast as my busy schedule will allow. Today is my birthday so I took half the day off. And I am spending that very quiet time stamping. Yea me! Tonight my hubby is making me sushi and my friend Mandy is bringing white cake with white icing. Yummy.

This colour challenge looked fabulous to me until I tried creating a card using the colors. It was hard for me to combine the two blues for some reason......but I guess that is why they call it a challenge, right? So, here it is..........I did not have Taken with Teal so I substituted Bermuda Bay. Other supplies used include:

Cardstock: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Basic Black and Bermuda Bay
Ribbon: Bermuda Bay Podka Dot
DSP: Night & Day Specialty (Holiday Mini)
Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Punch: Word Window

Mojo Monday 123

So, I just got Circle Circus stamp set in the mail and I have totally fallen in love with this set! When I first saw it in the catalog, it did nothing for me. Then I started seeing cards using the set and thought to myself "I should get that set". There are 10 stamps in that set! I love it. So, when I decided to take on Mojo Monday 123, I knew I was going to use it. And here it is: I used the adorable Sweet Pea DSP paper from the Stampin Up Mini Occasions catalog. So Saffron, Whisper White, Kraft and Pumpkin Pie cardstock were used as well as the Scallop Edge punch, Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon and linen thread. The saying comes from the Herb Expressions stamp set. I think it turned out pretty cute!

I'm a dork...........

I just realized as I was going through my scrapbook pages on my blog, that I did not upload the cutest one of all from November.........here it is. Although it has a fall theme to it, you can use the layout for any season or theme. Let me know if you need directions on how to layer the strips. After many tries, I finally figured out the easiest way to do it.

Love Bots

I just got my order in from Stampin Up!!! Love delivery day. I decided this year I would be lazy (not really) but thought it would be fun to order these Love Bots for my son's Valentine give-a-ways in his preschool class. Look how cute they are! Of course I have yet to put one together as I had to rush off to work this morning but I can't wait to get home and do them. All you need to complete them is time. Folds and holds together with stickers provided, so no extra adhesive. I thought about ordering the personlized stamp with Davis' name on it but I thought it would be better if he "signed" his own name as he just learned how to do it and it is so darn cute. Now I need to figure out what to put in these boxes........candy of course. I am all about candy for the holidays.

If you are interested......these cute Love Bots boxes come in two kinds: for boys and girls, 30 per package and it is only $9.95. Can be found in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. Click on the link to the right of this post. Order now as supplies are limited!
